For our Shanghai office we are looking for a Customer Success Engineer (m/f/d) to join our growing team. 

Our Shanghai subsidiary is expanding rapidly in this dynamic and fast-evolving market. As the number of installed systems across China continues to rise - driven in particular by the strong adoption of our Quantum X platform - we are strengthening our local presence to better support industrial and research customers in photonics, integrated photonic packaging, and lithography.

Job description

As a Customer Success Engineer, you will operate and manage our demonstration laboratory in Shanghai, working with Nanoscribe’s Quantum X system as well as key characterization tools such as SEM and optical microscopy. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between our technical teams in Germany and our customers in China, providing expert technical support, training, feasibility studies, and printing services. The position places a strong emphasis on integrated photonics and industrial applications.

Product Demonstrations & Sample Fabrication
  • Operate and maintain the Quantum X system for 2-photon polymerization (2PP) 3D printing in the Shanghai Demo Lab.
  • Design and execute print jobs for potential customers to demonstrate system capabilities.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and advise on technical feasibility.
Customer Training & Technical Support
  • Provide comprehensive customer support via email, online meetings, webinars, and on-site visits.
  • Conduct training for new and existing customers on system operation.
  • Troubleshoot printing challenges and ensure high customer satisfaction.
Laboratory & Equipment Management
  • Maintain key lab equipment, including the Quantum X system and characterization tools.
  • Ensure the Demo Lab complies with micro- and nanofabrication cleanliness standards.
Market Insight & Feedback
  • Collect customer feedback and service data to support product improvements.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in photonics and micro/nanofabrication.
  • Prepare concise, high-quality technical documentation and reports.

Your profile

Education
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
  • Preferred fields: Integrated Photonics, Optics, Photonics, Physics, or related engineering subjects.
Experience
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience (exceptional Master’s or PhD graduates will also be considered).
  • Required: Hands-on experience with two-photon polymerization (2PP) 3D printing.
  • Familiarity with micro/nanofabrication and lithography environments.
  • Proficiency in operating SEMs and optical microscopes.
Skills & Languages
  • Language: Fluent English for daily communication with the German HQ.
  • Software: Strong CAD skills and proficiency in MS Office; simulation experience in photonic device design is a plus.
  • Excellent documentation skills, including the ability to use AI-assisted tools efficiently.
Personal Attributes
  • Strong customer-oriented mindset and problem-solving ability.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high resilience.
  • A deep understanding of photonic packaging or industrial micro/nanomanufacturing is a plus.
